The Ukrainian format Supermarket Chef has launched in Poland on niche net Super Polsat and is produced by Rochstar in partnership with retail brand Netto Polska, part of Salling Group. Chef Jurek Sobieniak and food blogger Mateusz Guncel host the adaptation.

Created jointly by United Heroes Group and Sipur, with Pavlo Cherepin and Zipi Rozenblum as creative authors, the format originally premiered in Ukraine as FoodMarket Chef. The Ukrainian version was produced by Heroes Formats in partnership with Epicentr and hosted by chef Dmytro Horovenko.

The format sees contestants shop for ingredients within a set budget and time limit before preparing a signature dish inside a supermarket. The twist is that the judges are the supermarket's own cashiers rather than professional chefs or critics.

The combination of food competition, a real retail environment and everyday personalities is designed to make the format easily adaptable across markets and retail partnerships.

International distribution is handled by UK-based Flywheel Formats.
