Viggo Mortensen opened the Mykolaychuk OPEN film festival in Chernivtsi this Sunday, June 16. His new film Dead Men Don't Hurt headlines the program of the festival.

The actor himself expressed his desire to join the film festival, as he is currently on a tour of Europe, where he is presenting the film, Alex Malyshenko, program director of the film festival, told Suspilne.

Viggo Mortensen is one of the Hollywood stars who publicly support Ukraine. He recently recorded a video in a Trident T-shirt in support of Ukraine at the Glasgow Film Festival. He wore a similar shirt at the opening of the film festival in Chernivtsi.
